Christine’s career started with a position as a Controller working for a start-up company, after which she moved to public accounting and spent several years working with a midsized accounting firm in Toronto, obtaining her Chartered Accountant designation in 1999.
She then returned to school to complete her MBA at the Rotterdam School of Management in the Netherlands.
On returning to Canada, Christine worked for a boutique business valuations firm in Toronto, where she obtained her CBV designation in 2005.
Shortly thereafter she moved to the Orangeville area and started building a practice with a predecessor firm, servicing a large variety of accounting clients and providing business valuation services for estate planning, family law, shareholder disputes, and mergers and acquisitions.
In 2010 Christine formed Whalen Professional Corporation to carry on the business of the predecessor firm.
Christine is a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants; the Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators; and the Certified Management Accountants of Canada.
She serves as the Treasurer for the Ontario Hunter Jumper Association, and the Greater Dufferin Area Estate Planning Council.
